PITS Indexer is a Magento 2 extension developed by PIT solutions which enables admin users to update individual or all indexes manually from the admin backend itself easily instead of using command line user-interface (CLI). The Magento 2 Reindex from Backend extension works fine with Magento 2.
Store administrators can manage their reindexing tasks through Magento’s admin panel using this extension; therefore, there is no longer a need to access the server or run a CLI command to update the index. This would benefit needless staff who don’t have access to a server as well as when staff members without technical ability perform reindexing.
The Magento 2 Reindex from Backend extension provides a simple interface where indexes can be viewed and updated as needed. Admin users can choose to reindex a single index or run a full reindex for all available indexes. This helps keep catalog data, prices, search results, and other indexed data up to date without leaving the admin panel.
Reindexing actions are performed manually and only when initiated by the admin user. This allows better control over when indexing takes place, especially during store maintenance or data updates. Access control support ensures that only authorized admin roles can perform reindex operations, helping prevent accidental changes.
The extension is designed to work with Magento 2 Open Source and follows standard backend behavior. It does not change how indexing works internally; it only provides an alternative way to trigger the process. This keeps the functionality straightforward while making index management more accessible from the backend.
