What does this module do?
It adds a microphone button to your e-commerce search so shoppers can speak their query; the speech is transcribed and submitted to your existing product search automatically.
Is customer audio sent to our server?
No-speech recognition is handled by the browser's speech engine (per Web Speech API behavior). Depending on the browser, processing may use the vendor's recognition service. Review your browser/OS privacy policies accordingly.
How is the microphone permission handled?
The browser asks the shopper to allow mic access (HTTPS required). If denied, the module gracefully falls back to regular typed search.
Will it work with my custom website theme?
Generally yes. If your theme restructures the search bar significantly, a small selector tweak may be needed during integration (front-end level only).
What happens in unsupported browsers?
The mic button can be hidden/disabled or will fail gracefully, and shoppers can still type queries normally. We suggest testing Firefox/iOS and documenting your store's supported browsers.
